The Convening Culture Keepers mini-conferences occur biannually, once in the spring and fall of every year, and are each hosted by a different tribally-based partner in Wisconsin. Six conferences are scheduled to occur over a three-year period. Since October 2010 three tribal communities have hosted conferences, and a fourth is scheduled for Forest County Potawatomi in May 2012.
Oneida
The kickoff mini-conference was hosted by the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin’s Cultural Heritage Department on October 1-2, 2010.
Lac Courte Oreilles
The second mini-conference was hosted by the Lac Courte Oreilles Community College on April 14-15, 2011.
Menominee
The third min-conference was hosted by the College of Menominee Nation on October 20-21, 2011.
Forest County Potawatomi
The fourth mini-conference will be hosted by the Forest County Potawatomi Cultural Center, Library and Museum on Thursday, May 3 and Friday, May 4, 2012.
