Thank you for registering for Convening Great Lakes Culture Keepers, a regional institute for tribal librarians, archivists, and museum curators! From October 25-28, we will convene at the Mille Lacs Indian Museum and Trading Post for classes, tours, and other events.
Workshops and Classes
Instead of brief conference presentations, the institute’s workshops and daylong classes allow time for everyone to share their knowledge, learn from experts, and practice what they’ve learned through in-class activities. Specifically, we’ll be learning and working together to plan and begin to create a traveling exhibition that tell the story of “We Are Still Here.” The goal is to learn through doing. Many of the classes will incorporate the traveling exhibition through practical, hands-on learning exercises.
Workshop and class descriptions are available here.
For more information on the Grand Casino Mille Lacs, check out http://www.grandcasinomn.com/
Vouchers will be available for breakfast at the casino. Lunch and dinner will be provided every day of the institute.
Rental cars will be departing from Minneapolis – St. Paul International Airport on the afternoon of Monday, October 24th. Car pools are being arranged.
Mileage will be fully or partially reimbursed, depending on funding requests. A W9 form will be available at the institute for you to complete and return. We encourage those who can to take the charter bus. Otherwise, please carpool when possible.
