Purpose: To label fiction and non-fiction books from Baraboo
Date: July 24,2012
Participants: Phillip Yocham, Rie Hirano and Yiwen Wang

We continued labeling the six boxes of books in SLIS Library in the morning. There are children and teen fiction and non-fiction books. After finishing labeling these books, we will go and get another six boxes of unlabeled ones. Since the labels are all prepared and all of the books have been categorized on the lists, what we need to do is to stick the labels on the spine of the book.

We have different, colorful labels for distinguishing fiction from non-fiction and children’s books from teen books. We have also checked the number of copies of some books. The work went well and quickly.

Two of us worked on labeling, including checking the copies on the lists, and another one helped to fix some glitches and re-classify some books. We did re-classificaiton, because we thought some children’s fiction and non-fiction should be in the teen’s section. In the end, we finished labeling part of the books and planned to get more unlabled ones in the next processing party. We all had fun on this work, and it was a good chance for TLAMers to get together.
